The MSC Maritime Careers Workshop goes virtual for its fifth run
10 September, 2020
In response to the uncertainties amid COVID-19, the MSC Maritime Careers Workshop 2020 went virtual for its fifth run. Organised by the Maritime Singapore Connect (MSC) Office, a unit under the Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF) and in partnership with SeeMeCV, the two-day careers workshop held on 26 – 27 August provided an interactive online experience for both the exhibitors and attendees.
The event was opened to students and working professionals across all disciplines who were keen to find out more about the diverse internship, traineeships and job opportunities in the maritime industry and network with maritime professionals from leading local and international maritime companies.
The key highlights of the two-day virtual fair included:
- Employer Booths: Attendees were able to view the employers' corporate videos, brochures, job listings and submit their resumes for job applications
- Livestream Sessions: Attendees got to join the "AskMeAnything" livestream sessions to have their burning career questions answered by maritime professionals and HR personnel
Beyond the event, the MSC Office will also be supporting the jobseekers to continue their maritime exploration journeys by encouraging them to visit the MSC website (www.maritimesgconnect.com), a one-stop portal for more maritime career information and opportunities.
"It has been fantastic working with SMF and we are proud of the result they achieved during their fair. Driving and supporting online engagement, improving overall reach and access to employers, especially during these difficult times. We hope to continue our relationship with SMF in the future supporting their attraction and engagement efforts within their online and virtual strategy." SeeMeCV
